Network Problems (Resolved)

  • Some customers will experience network degradation when accessing their services hosted on the Digital Synergy network due to problems on the MTN network affecting the North South traffic on their network.

    MTN engineers are attending to the issue.

    ETA: Unfortunately, no ETA has been given by MTN.

Utility Power Outage (Resolved)

  • Affecting System - MTN Business Data Centre
  • At about 9:20 this morning Eskom began carrying out unscheduled maintenance in the Gallo Manor area which is also where MTN Business (the data centre we use) is based. The data centre switched to generator power until 11:40 when their generators failed as well. Power was restored but emergency maintenance had to be carried out by MTN Business on some network components which failed due to the power outage. The network is back up, but there is still a minimal amount of packet loss which can cause problems when trying to load your site or send and receive email. MTN Business technicians are still working to resolve this completely.
